Renaissance Children ( Part 1 )

Jose Rizal said that the children are the hope of the future but as much as we want to take his words literally, it was not always generally true - at least in the past hundred years.

Perhaps what he was referring to in that statement was that the children born from 1993 will bring real change to the country. In his essay “The Philippines: A Century Hence” he talked about a different Philippines. This essay was written in 1889. Astrologically, there is a deeper meaning to this idea because of important planetary configurations that occurred in the early 90’s till the early part of this century.

The two most important astrological phenomena in the previous century were the conjunction of the planets Uranus and Neptune and the entry of both planets into Aquarius. Many astrologers take these as an indication that the so-called “Dawning of the Age of Aquarius”, popularized in the 60's, is upon us. The 60’s actually was just a preview. The real “dawning” is now with the introduction of the information superhighway and the rise of the Internet around 1996 when Uranus entered Aquarius. Astrologically, Uranus and Aquarius are associated with knowledge as well as computers and networking. Even the “www” which is written before every website looks like the symbol for Aquarius. However, the “Age of Aquarius” is not to officially begin till the middle of this century.

The conjunction of Uranus and Neptune signifies the rise of a new culture and children born with this signature are very creative, intelligent and spiritual who will initiate new trends and lifestyles when they come of age. They will spearhead new developments in arts, literature, music, spirituality, philosophy and even business as this conjunction occurred in Capricorn, the sign of big corporations. Children of the conjunction are those born from 1993 to 1996.

The influence of Uranus and Neptune in Aquarius on the other hand will put more emphasis computers, science, technology and what are generally termed as alternative lifestyles. Uranus in Aquarius children are those born between 1996 and 2003, while those with Neptune in Aquarius are those born between 1998 and 2011.

To a certain extent children born after 2011 till 2018 would still exhibit the traits of the Children of the Conjunction due to the so-called “mutual reception” between Uranus and Neptune. Together we can term this generation of children born from 1993 to 2018 as the “renaissance generation” of the 21st century. A new age will begin with the world that they will be creating when the cream of the crop of this renaissance generation become leaders and innovators and reformers of society.
